Con Artist Collective

P.S. There are desks up there too!
My friend Josef is a an artist that's part of the Con Artist Collective. You may remember my post when I wrote about attending one of their art shows. During that time, they were located underground (literally, below the sidewalk). Con Artist Collective provides a creative work space for all types of artists and provides them with tools, utilities, exposure, and a sense of community.

Recently, they expanded their space, and I decided to go check it out. I was instantly amazed by the innovative design. They have large tables that have the ability to lift up & lock against the walls for more floor space or to be used for easels. My favorite part? There's a "meeting" box, which is completely mobile and has facing benches with light and outlets. When the doors are closed, it's practically sound proof - perfect for private meetings or phone calls. It's SO cool that artists even use that space to work as well.

Check out this video from their opening night of their new space! (And read on to see more pics!)

From the demolition of the old space, Con Artist Collective actually used materials from the debris. It's beautiful to see what can be recreated using the same materials.
