
Check out this eccentric flower - the Blue Passion Flower! These can grow up to 40 feet and usually bloom in late summer/early fall. Even though it's called the Blue Passion Flower, it can also bloom in shades of violet or white.

They can be found throughout Central and South America and as far north as the Southern United States.

They are extremely fast growing, hardy passionflower producing egg shaped orange fruits with deep red, edible pulp, although not as tasty as the purple passion fruit. Flowers are ornate, multi-colored, with a minty scent much like the fruit of the pineapple guava.
