Dinner&Music at South Street Seaport

Saturday, August 08, 2009

Yesterday I went with a few friends to South Street Seaport again. We dined at the Sequoia, which if seated outdoors you get a scenic view of the ocean, but we ate inside. I loved how elegant the place was, even knowing that it was targeted towards tourists. Although the separated bar area was blasting some cheesy clubbing music. lol
The weather was great last night too. As much as I've seen it, I still love the view. While we were there, there was a live concert going on as part of the River to River Festival (free summertime New York City events all summer long). These three bands were Slow Club, The Wave Pictures, and Casiokids. They are all under a UK music label, Moshi Moshi Records (also responsible for other bands like Bloc Party, Hot Chip, Au Revoir Simone, etc.)
We even witnessed an old man dancing his heart out on the side of the stage. He was gyrating and twirling continuously - he definitely had a lot of energy haha.
