Summer Dresses

Friday, July 07, 2017

My friends know that I could live in a hoodie & jeans forever - comfort is so key for me. However, when I do have to dress up, I usually opt for short dresses. With our temperatures slowly rising, I ended up wearing Tobi dresses all weekend.

Recently, I went to a coworker's wedding at Brooklyn Winery. As it was a Friday night, I decided to go with the reliable little black dress. I love this one because of the lace trim, giving it a statement detail. It was also super comfortable, especially since it was scorching hot that night. And the wedding was absolutely beautiful. It was fun with my co-workers - we're like a family as we're such a small team and the bride was stunning.

The next night, went on a date with my fiance. We checked out a new restaurant in our neighborhood, Salt & Bone Smokehouse. The weather was perfect to eat outside, and the food was absolutely delicious. My mouth is still watering thinking about their corn & brisket. I chose this dress, and we both love this salmon pink color.

On our Sunday wind-down, my fiance & I hung out on our rooftop, where we can see an amazing view of the city. We relaxed & enjoyed the sunset. I laid out in this dress - slightly similar to my date night dress but I love the deep v-neck and the light blue color. It was the calm before the storm of July 4th. On that night, everyone in our building goes up to see the Macy's Fireworks, where we were able to see a great view right on the water. We also get a glimpse of fireworks all over - across the East River at the Upper East Side, up in the Bronx, by Astoria Park & the bridge, and parts of Queens and down to Long Island City.
