Figment Festival

Friday, June 21, 2013

A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Figment Festival on Governors Island, just a short ferry ride away from lower Manhattan. It was a gathering of amazing art and artists. I'm proud to say two of my friends, Katie and Josef, were a part of it. Both were doing a performance pieces as Paintings Come to Life. Katie posed as Andrew Wyeth's piece, Christina's World. Josef was The Scream by Edvard Munch.

There was also a structure built with hundreds of recycled bottles, and looked like a cloud on land. Goers were dancing and having a blast inside of it. On the other hand, there was a teepee where people can go to relax and meditate. There was also a food truck gathering and even more art around the island.
