Garden Themed Tea Party

Sunday, March 27, 2011

Yesterday, I attended a garden-themed tea party that my friend was hosting. It was my first tea party I've gone to, and it was absolutely fabulous! Despite it being freezing outside, it was nice having a warm cup of tea. We had five types of tea: Lychee tea, English Breakfast, Earl's Gray, something Banana, and Caramel Candy (I think, I'm a little fuzzy on the names lol). In addition, we had so many things to nibble on: macarons (cappucino, vanilla bean, and strawberry), cucumber and mushroom sandwiches, blueberry scones, cream puffs, apple crumbs, chocolate, and biscuits.
We also had different names for our teacups. It was how we decided who got which cup; we pulled out names that were previously made up from a bowl & matched with whichever cup it was named. Mine was "The Secret Garden for the Girl Next Door".
Below is a photo of the teacup I used with the first round of tea - lychee tea. Next to it is an image of my friend, Tanuka, and her super cute teacup earrings!

Then here's a picture of all of us :)
And my outfit for the tea party. Purple floral dress, with wool stockings, black cardigan & purple satin flats. The scarf was handmade by my cousin & the belt is borrowed from my mom.
