Christmastime in NYC

Sunday, December 19, 2010

My favorite time of the year is Christmastime in New York City - extravagant window displays (at Bergdorf's & Saks), tons of holiday shopping, Christmas lights, and of course the big tree in Rockefeller Center. The city is even more breathtaking at night.
I don't usually like to hang out at tourist spots in NY, but every Christmas I visit the tree either with friends or my family. So I went yesterday with my boyfriend and we just enjoyed the holiday season by hanging out and taking in the Christmas spirit. We also visited the St. Patrick's Cathedral nearby for awhile. After we headed downtown to finish gift shopping.
By the way, I'd like to thank Taiwo & Connie for Christmas cards I've received! Love them both :)

It's the best time of the year to be here! I visited the tree the other day after work by myself and I was so taken with it. I think it's particularly gorgeous this year :)

I always think there's something magical about big cities during Christmas time, even if a lot of it is very commercial (Paris and London are similar to NYC in that respect). Gorgeous photos! I love the fact you managed to avoid shooting the crowds of shoppers, which is the only thing that drives me crazy about this time of the year ;-)

I love Christmas window displays, they can be so fantastic. There's a John Galliano designed underwater Christmas tree in London, its pretty fantastic!
