Dead Like Me: Life After Death

Friday, November 19, 2010

Since I had a free afternoon this past week, I browsed through Netflix for any interesting indie films. I stumbled onto Death Like Me: Life After Death. The synopsis caught my attention:

"A new assignment hits home for grim reaper Georgia (Ellen Muth) when her latest reaping, Hudson Hart (Jordan Hudyma), turns out to be the secret love of her sister, Reggie (Britt McKillip). Meanwhile, Cameron Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) takes over as Head Reaper, but he's not highly regarded by his undead underlings Daisy (Sarah Wynter), Roxy (Jasmine Guy) and Mason (Callum Blue) in this feature follow-up to the short-lived Showtime cult hit."
It basically showed 4 "grim reapers" doing their jobs, and I have never actually seen the TV show (or heard much about it, for that matter). However, from watching the movie - I think I'm pretty much hooked! It definitely is a quirky, dark humor type of movie - definitely not creepy or scary in any way (trust me - I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat otherwise!). I can't tell you whether or not the shows or the movie is better since I have yet to see any of the shows, but they are now on my Netflix queue. :)

I love dark humor, that's why I'm such a big fan of Weeds. Never heard of this show (or movie) but it looks like its worth a shot!

I was just a lil too un-interested when this show first aired & I think Buffy was on the same time so I missed it on TV. BUT this is one of the shows I've always wanted to catch a marathon of. Thanks for the reminder! It's different, I'd totally like it!! =)

Hahaha my mom and I used to watch this show until 2 a.m. almost every night when I was still in college and living at home. Mostly when we were drunk. Lol. It's definitely an interesting show that takes a certain type of audience. You made my day by talking about it here. Brings back memories. :)

Wow! I've never heard of it before. I like dark humor/comedy films so I'll definitely check it out. I'm also terrified of scary movies so I never watch them! xoxoxoxo
