Sunday Flowers: Birds of Paradise

Sunday, October 03, 2010

This gorgeous flower is called Birds of Paradise also known as a Crane Flower - both named for it's unique shape. They're native to South Africa and bloom from September to May. The plant usually rises to about 4 feet.

I think the colors are beautiful!

Some of my favorite flowers! My grandparents always had them in their front yard. This brings back so many memories.

These are beautiful. I always love more unique flowers. Roses are nice, but something like this is so much more beautiful and special.

Oh, birds of paradise is definitely one of my favorite types of flowers. When I visited Newport Beach I saw the most beautiful garden of these.
