Little Tiger Press

The Little Tiger Press Young Writer & Illustrator Awards is a national competition for young kids, and is run by a UK Publisher - Little Tiger Press. It is to encourage creativity and literacy in children of all ages. "It aims to promote a life-long love of books and to give children a sense of enjoying and confidence in reading, writing, and illustrating."

I'm supporting this cause & the awards in a button on my sidebar. Promoting literacy to children (or any age for that matter) is something I believe in. I've seen people my age that don't like to read or don't know how to read very well, and that's really sad & incredibly disappointing. Hopefully this (and of course, many other ways) can help reach young children and inspire them.

Wow! This sounds like such a good, pure, wonderful program. Literacy is such a problem in the world. Thank you for spreading the word.

What a great program! Hopefully, it will motivate many more kids to pick up a book this summer :)

That's a great cause. Children definitely need to develop a love and thirst for reading.

This is such an adorable idea =) I do hope literacy becomes more prevalent in the next generation. It really is sad to see so many who dislike it now!

I think this is an excellent cause to support! I remember there was a program called Book-It when I was in elementary. For every book you read you got a star for a badge and then once the badge was full, you got a free personal sized pizza from Pizza Hut. They also did a common reading book for all kids in the grade.

I like the idea of letting the kids be creative and write a book! That's wonderful!

Sounds like an amazing program! Glad to see kids reading. =)

I use to write stories all the time when I was kid. I was addicted to reading until my second year of high school. They took the joy out of books by giving us classic stories and making us point out every freaking detail. I was so annoying but now I've been trying to read two books every semester.

This is a great program. Little kids should be involved in things like this instead of sitting at the computers, playing video games or watching tv.
