Perks of Being a Wallflower - Movie?

Friday, May 21, 2010

So there is talk about Emma Watson & Logan Lerman negotiating to be leads in an adaptation indie film from a classic book, Perks of Being a Wallflower. Personally, it's one of my favorite books of all time and I think it would make a great movie. Emma is a great, classy actress and I think this would be a good chance to leap from her Harry Potter days. I honestly haven't seen any of the movies that Logan has been in (although he did play 8 year old Jason in Riding in Cars with Boys, also starring with Drew Barrymore - one of my favorite movies, btw!) but he does look like how I imagined Charlie might look. Emma will be playing Sam, his friend & love interest.

Stephen Chbosky, the author of the book, will direct from his own script with Lianne Halfon, Malkovich and Russell Smith producing.

I definitely would want to see it when it comes out, would you?

Thanks for sharing. It would be nice to see Emma in something that doesn't either remind me of Harry Potter or Burberry. These are the only places I see her!

Logan was in the TV show Jack and Bobby from a few years ago- he played the younger brother. He seems like a talented young actor. Hope you're having a great weekend! xo, mel

I think Emma would be a great choice also. She needs to be seen in more than the Harry Potter movies.

this looks awesome! Can't wait. We should go to the premiere?

I loved Logan Lerman in "My One and Only" and Emma was amazing in all the "Harry Potter" films as Hermione and in a small TV movie "Ballet Shoes".
When I read the book I pictured Logan for Charlie and Ellen Page or Emma Stone for Sam but, Emma Watso would do an amazing job.
Hope they can do it!!

I am also very excited for this movie! Mostly, I'm looking forward to seeing Emma act as someone other than Hermoine. By the way, I really enjoy your taste in music. :)
