Babies

Monday, May 10, 2010

Yesterday for Mother's Day, I took out mamadukes for brunch at one of my favorite restaurants. And Richie Rich of Heatherette was sitting a couple of tables away! I didn't approach him though, didn't want to bother him lol. But my mom & I had a fantastic meal then I took her to see Babies!

If you've seen the trailer, it is absolutely adorable! Full house in the theater - every single seat was filled, including some of the stairs. This is a short documentary showing you 4 different babies from around the world - Ponijao from Namibia (she was my favorite, such a cutie!), Mari from Japan, Bayar from Mongolia, and Hattie from California. They show you from where they were just newborns to incredibly curious toddlers.

There really wasn't much of a story plot, but it did show insight to their different cultures and the various ways they were raised and how their families lived. They showed how each of these infants learned how to walk, talk, what they played with, and what activities they participated in. At the end, they showed you where these babies are now (technically, no longer babies but cute kids).

This will leave you gushing throughout the entire film!

I'm so glad you mentioned that movie - I haven't heard of it before, but I love the idea. It would be so interesting to directly compare the different cultures/environments of babies (and it sounds so cute!).
