Sunday Flowers: Week 1

Sunday, April 18, 2010

Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend. So as most of you know, my grandmother recently passed away. I'm planning to get a tattoo of marigolds on my shoulder to honor her since marigolds were her favorite flowers. While doing research, I ventured onto looking at exotic and tropical flowers & I found it to be so interesting at how many species of flowers there are.

So, I've decided to post about a different type of flower each week, and maybe you'll discover your new favorite one ;)

I start this week with the Bleeding Heart Vine.I know what you're thinking. Maybe not the most appealing name for a pretty flower, but the contrast of the red & white definitely caught my eye first. First and foremost, I have a weakness for white flowers, and the little red petals just look like tiny hearts - how cute!

They are mostly grown in warm climates and is also sometimes called the "glory bower" which is a tropical, attractive twining vine. The Bleeding Heart Vine is originally from West Africa, and they show a black fruit containing black seeds with an orange lining.Enjoy until next week!

P.S. Help me win a $2,000 scholarship by voting for my styling look HERE! :)

Such a beautiful flower, kinda a tragic name. I am actually doing a spring exchange right now. You send a picture of a flower to a partner, if interested you should check it out =)

Bleeding Heart is such a sad name for a flower. The flowers look pretty though. I also love white flowers.
