Mr. Brainwash Exhibit

Saturday, April 24, 2010

After a friend suggest I go, I went to see the Mr. Brainwash exhibit. It supposedly was supposed to end viewing earlier, but fortunately was extended to the end of April. I wanted to visit before it ended. It was in some sort of warehouse downtown, and it consisted of such amazing art & installations.

There were enlarged spray paint cans, screen painting on textiles, splatter painting, silk screening on canvas, broken vinyl pieces on wood to create images, tire sculptures, a life-size taxi cab inside a mock Matchbox box as if the taxi cab was a toy car, graffiti, paper mache, and even a gigantic radio sculpture.

The art was displayed on two floors while jazz music was playing. It was a very artsy, downtown atmosphere. On the lower floor, there were dim lighting and modern furniture so viewers can sit while taking in and observing the art.
I definitely suggest checking out if you are currently in New York. Click here for more information about the Mr. Brainwash exhibit :)

And thanks to Imogen for the Ms. Brightside award! :)

This looks so cool! Kind of reminds me of like a modernized version of Andy Warhol work. Too bad I don't live in NYC or else I'd so stop in and see this.
