Happy Endings

Thursday, March 18, 2010

Just think of American Beauty + She's Just Not That Into You + a touch of Juno. You would get Happy Endings, which is a movie I watched this past weekend. Yes, I know what most of you might be thinking - but it wasn't that type of raunchy film. It was good; it was bad; it was thoughtful; it was bizarre; it was complicated, but it was entertaining. It stars Lisa Kudrow, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Ritter, Jesse Bradford, Tom Arnold, Steve Coogan, Laura Dern, and Bobby Cannaval and was released in 2005.

Here is a synopsis from IMDB: "An ensemble cast telling 10 stories with intertwining characters. One story is about a father and son who are dating the same woman . Another features a woman who long ago gave her baby up for adoption but is now being blackmailed by a documentary filmmaker who claims to know the now-grown child's whereabouts."

It was a bit long - a little over 2 hours, but I enjoyed the sarcastic humor and wit.

Oh and thanks to Pilcuis for the Sunshine Award!

I am an imbd.com addict!

I love to read all about a movie, from the cast info to the trivia, to the goofs and bloopers. It drives my husband crazy because he says it takes away the magic. But I just love to learn about every aspect of that business, including its shortcomings and failures. After all, we all have them!

Sounds nice movie..

Oh I wanted to see this. I just love Maggie Gyllenhaal, she's brilliant.
A father and son dating the same woman? Ugh, that's a bit sick, haha. Glad it's funny, then!
