10 Words You Need to Stop Misspelling

Monday, January 04, 2010

This website: The Oatmeal, features different types of comics that has a satire feel to them. This one in particular is their newest. "10 Words You Need to Stop Misspelling". It really irks me when people cannot spell or use the incorrect word while typing, so I found this pretty amusing. Check out this comic here. They have many others as well.<3 Audrey Allure

This is hysterical! I, too, am obsessive about spelling. I can't help but proof read everything...menus, billboards, you name it!

Too many people rely on spell check, but as the infamous little poem below demonstrates, nothing can replace good grammar and spelling skills!

Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write
It shows me strait a weigh.

As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
Its rare lea ever wrong.

Eye have run this poem threw it
I am shore your pleased two no
Its letter perfect awl the weigh
My chequer tolled me sew.

This should be required reading for EVERY English-speaking person... I can't tell you how many bloggers claim they need to "loose" weight - aaaargh!

Hahaha too funny! It always bothers me when people spell a word wrong. And what's worse is when you correct them and they still spell it wrong later!
