The Model As Muse

Monday, July 13, 2009

Yesterday I finally got the chance to check out the Model As Muse exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This exhibition was made possible by Marc Jacobs and Conde Nast. It showcased famous models and outfits throughout the different eras, starting from the 2os and ending at the 90s.

It was all beautifully done, and my favorite part was the 20s and the 50s/60s. I love the sophistication behind these eras. I also loved how in one of the rooms they constantly played various clips from Audrey Hepburn movies. (She's my idol.)

Below is a video, courtesy of metmuseum.org , showing you a tour of the exhibit since no pictures were allowed inside.

Ugh! I'm so jealous because I LOVE going to exhibitions but have never been to one dedicated to fashion/models! =(... This sounds extremely neat and I hope something like it will be coming our way (Miami) soon!
