Oldies Mood

Tuesday, May 05, 2009

So maybe it might just be the constant rain outside or the old soul in me stepping out, but I've been in a sophisticated mood to listen to real classic American songs. Some swooners I'm talking about are Doris Day [My mom used to sing Que Sera Sera to me all the time when I was younger], Frank Sinatra, and The Ink Spots [yes, I went all the way back to the 30s]. I just want to dress up in pearls, heels, red lipstick, curl my eyelashes, finger wave my hair, wear a polka dot tool dress [I know I'm cross-referencing different decades at once], and just step back in time.
"I don't want to set the world on fire, I just want to start a flame in your heart."

Other than that, I also have been in the mood for French things too haha. I want to watch some old French movies - one that I like is Band of Outsiders. (1966) Anna Karina plays Odile, yet one of my friends said she reminded him of Audrey Hepburn, in terms of physical looks. I guess the resemblance is there. A song I recommend, Darling, Je Vous Aime Beaucoup by Arielle Dombasle.

I added a few songs to my playlist so you can listen; now only if more of them were available to add. (:

awesome post. Que Sera Sera was the song our neighbor, Aling Baby used to play in her paino like everyday when i was younger in the philippines. When i went home to vist about 3 years ago, she still lived in our old neighborhood. Ofcourse she got much older but she was able to play this song for me :)

My nana used to sing "Que Sera Sera" to me all the time! And if you really want something French I'll let you do my French homework for me! Hahaha, totally kidding! =P
